Kenya Society for the Blind honours G4S
18 July 2010
The Kenya Society has honored G4S for its support spanning over 15 years.
The KSB Executive Director, Ms Juliana Kivasu, visited the G4S head Office on Witu Road and presented the MD with a certificate of appreciation, a life membership certificate and a branded wall clock in appreciation of the support that G4S has given the society. As part of its service to the community, G4S has been distributing educational material for visually impaired persons in 88 districts throughout Kenya.
“We would like to register our appreciation for the support you have given us over the years. This life membership certificate we present to you today entitles G4S to participate in our Annual General Meetings and other decision-making activities of the Council,” Ms Kivasu told the G4S Kenya managing Director, Mr John Wheater, during a brief ceremony at the head office.
Accepting the gifts, Mr Wheater said: “G4S is happy to offer ongoing commitment to supporting the Kenya Society for the Blind. We will be keen to explore other opportunities on how to work more closely with you.”
Ms Kivasu also briefed the MD on recent activities of the KSB, including its support for 2,000 visually impaired children in various schools in the country. KSB supports the children to sustain their integration into the normal school environment. KSB has also established a “Blind Corner” at the High Court in which visually impaired persons can use computers and other materials.
