G4S pumps Sh3.08 million worth of support for Nairobi Marathon

Nairobi, October, 2011. The ninth edition of Standard Chartered Nairobi Marathon received a major boost from leading security solutions provider G4S Kenya.

Making the announcement, the company’s deputy MD and Corporate Affairs Director Mr. Jack Muchira said as leaders in providing risk mitigation, secure support and integrated solutions for a range of clients operating in complex or sensitive environments G4S will deploy a portfolio of well trained professional staff on the day of the marathon to ensure safety and security.

The marathon, which took place on 30th October, received event security support worth Ksh. 3.08 million from G4S Kenya.  “Our experience in providing crowd management and security services to the events market is unmatched in the industry. We make this legacy count by providing high quality and well managed personnel,” added Muchira.

The security detail comprised of guards, trained event security officers, event coordinators, event security manager as well as risk analysts who will donned the race course to provide security for both the participants and the spectators in order to ensure a successful event, allowing the Standard Chartered to concentrate on the main event.

The Marathon, a charity fundraising event, has become the greatest professional and social running event of the year bringing together runners, supporters, corporate and the community.  “This sponsorship is reaffirming our commitment to improving lives of people in the communities we operate in,” concluded Muchira.
